  • What is Nerf?
Nerf is a toy brand owned by Hasbro, a leading toy company behind some of the most famous brands such as Monopoly, Playskool, My Little Pony, Transformers and many others. Most Nerf products are toy blasters which shoot foam darts. So a Nerf party would involve players shooting each other with these blasters, much like a paint ball game. Playing Nerf is a good idea for a birthday party, and not only for kids, as we have found out. We have also been involved in many corporate events as well, be it a Christmas or end-of-year activity or a team building exercise or just something a little different.
  • Does it hurt?
No it doesn't, not really. Of course, everyone's pain tolerance varies but generally speaking it does not hurt when you are hit with the foam darts/bullets. At close range, you may feel something like the flick of a finger, which goes away within seconds. Most times players do not even feel the shots from the blasters - and subsequently deny they were hit :)
  • Where are you located?
We are currently only based in Auckland. Please note that we are a mobile operation so we travel to you or your preferred location.
  • Do I need to bring anything? (can we bring our own guns?)
Our Nerf battles include the following: 1. Nerf blasters/guns 2. Nerf team bands 3. Darts/bullets 4. Goggles/protective eyewear 5. Inflatable barricades 6. A variety of objective-based games 7. A referee to run the games As such, you don't need to bring anything else other than, perhaps, water. We would encourage you NOT to bring your own gun and/or bullets to avoid getting mixed up or damaged, but we won't stop you if you decide to bring your gun along.
  • Do you do team building activities?
As they say, you are only as old as you feel. So yes we do! If you are organising a team building or corporate event and have the need to shoot your boss (with Nerf blasters of course), then have a chat with us!
  • How much does it cost?
Pricing is as follows: 1. $260 for up to 10 players (+$20 per extra player) 2. $320 for up to 14 players (+$20 per extra player) 3. $420 for up to 20 players Please contact us if you have more than 20 players. For more info, please visit our Pricing page.
  • Can I pay for "x" number of players but have more turn up and will just swap them around?"
The answer to that is no, not really, unless you pay for the extra players. As per our terms and conditions, pricing is for a set number of people who will be playing or participating in the activities for the duration. For example, if a booking has been made for 10 players, then only up to 10 players are allowed to participate in the activities for the duration of the event. You can not have more than 10 players and split them into smaller groups (ie swap around). More players than what has been booked is possible at an additional cost (standard charges apply).
  • Is 5 or 6 years of age too young for this?
While the recommended minimum age is 8, we have done loads of parties for 6 and even 5 year olds. The difference is that younger children are less likely to play structured games, such as Capture the Flag. They will still have loads of fun by tagging each other and sometimes simply by collecting bullets/darts.
  • How long does the Nerf battle last?
The standard duration for our Nerf or Laser Strike party is 90 minutes, not including set up and pack up times. If you want a combined Nerf and Laser Strike party, you get an extra 30 minutes (total of 2 hours) and there is an additonal cost of $50.
  • How much space do you need?
Unlike paintball, we don't need a very big space at all. Generally speaking, about the size of half a basketball court is sufficient. So that's roughly 14m x 15m.
  • Do you stay and run the games?
Yes we do! We run a couple of objective-based games. So you can sit back, relax and enjoy the show (or join in).
  • Do you arrive earlier to set up?
Yes we arrive about half an hour before the booked time so we have enough time to set up. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to pack up as well. Please take this into account when you book a hall for your party.
  • What happens when it rains?
If it is only light rain, generally we can proceed. In an event of extreme weather (heavy rain or wind) then we will have to look at rescheduling.
  • Can we play at a public park?
Yes, in most cases we can freely use a public park or reserve. There are exceptions, such as Cornwall Park. You can check with us first if you are unsure.
  • Can we do this indoors?
Absolutely! Playing Nerf indoor is just as much fun as doing it outdoors. Even more so with Laser Strike parties!
  • What are your session times?
Our standard sessions are 10 or 10.30 am in the morning and 2 or 2.30 pm in the afternoon on weekends. We can also do weekdays.
  • What is the minimum age to play?
Recommended minimum age is 8, but we can do parties for children as young as 5. Generally speaking, it is a little harder to play structured games with 5 year olds but they would still have loads of fun shooting Nerf bullets (or simply picking them up and collecting them!).
